We produce Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Sauvignon Blanc, and currently have: aging pot still brandy from Chenin Blanc in barrels, a Method Cap Classique sparkling wine made from Chardonnay grapes (Blanc de Blanc) on the lees, whilst eagerly anticipating our first Pinot noir. To maintain our standard of excellence, we’ve decided to limit production to 600 bottles of each variety. This makes the hidden gem that is Windfall exclusive to a select few, which is why we’d like to extend the invitation to you, so that you too can share this journey with us.
Our Journey
Eddie Barlow bought Windfall as Spesbona from Phillip Lourens and later sold it to prominent KZN property developer, Robert Alexander, who has rejuvenated Windfall by restoring dams, replanting vineyards, unearthing new boreholes and establishing Windfall’s boutique cellar. Kobus van der Merwe brings a wealth of experience to his role as winemaker on Windfall with 30 years in the industry, complemented by his passion for winemaking, his zeal for excellence and his determination to discover new, elegant tastes.
